The 2022 Philly Fall Classic was held September 16-18 at MSI and surrounding facilities in the Philadelphia area. This blog post serves to recognize the best uncommitted–at the time of this event–players I watched while scouting the event.
This is my "Top 5" from the 2022 Philly Fall Classic:
1. *Penn Commit*
('24,VA) INF Michael Powell of Primetime Baseball
6'2" 175lbs. True SS upside with a hit tool to go along with. Defensive range plays wide with feel for the ball. Swing plays from the left side with mostly low liner contact production.
2. ('24,PA) C Drew Brown of All Star Baseball
6'2" 190lbs. Really like this lefty swing. High intent throughout. Figures to only get better with development. College follow bat for the area.
3. ('24,PA) INF Stone Powell of Bucks County Generals
6'3" 210lbs. The Bo Bichette look-alike has some tools of his own. Produced plenty of hits this past week from the no-stride setup. Path started negative at times, but got good pieces of the baseball with the high finish and strength. High ceiling bat with development.
4. ('24,MD) C Andrew Raymond of Stinger United
6' 175lb LHH defensive C. The HS Junior really has an idea behind the dish. Reception beats the ball to the spot and forces the ball back to the zone with a consistent flat presentation. Blocked well. Also nabbed multiple runners on the base-paths; sub 2 PT. Also a college follow for his area.
5. ('24,PA) RHP Michael Liu of Bucks County Generals
The 6' 155lb deceptive delivery got the start on Day 2. Worked efficiently with 8Ks on 4 innings. Possesses raw actions that have an opportunity to press 90 in future. Plenty of unlocked velo.
