Prospect Select Baseball Welcomes Eddy Rodriguez as New National Director of Scouting and Technology
Homestead, FL – January 9, 2025 – Prospect Select Baseball is excited to announce the appointment of Eddy Rodriguez to lead all scouting and technology advancements within the organization, bringing his extensive experience and innovative approach to the role.
Eddy Rodriguez joins Prospect Select Baseball with a distinguished career in professional baseball as both a player and a coach. Rodriguez acted as the Los Angeles Angels Minor League Catching Coordinator in 2019. Prior to the 2020 season he took on the role of Catching Coach for the Miami Marlins. Most recently he was the Minor League Field Coordinator for the New York Mets for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Before transitioning to coaching, Rodriguez spent 12 years playing for the Cincinnati Reds, San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Rays, and New York Yankees. Known for his defensive prowess, Rodriguez made his Major League debut on August 2, 2012, hitting a home run off Johnny Cueto in his first major league at-bat. He attended the University of Miami from 2003-2006 where he was a standout on the diamond.
Rodriguez will take a lead role in player experience at Prospect Select events, with a focus on improving both the data and analytics, as well the player profile aspects of Prospect Select scouting. He brings a wealth of knowledge from the data space through his past experiences with companies such as YakkerTech, FlightScope, Rhapsodo, Trackman, and Blast Motion.
