Prospect Select launches new data-driven Player Profile System

PALM BEACH, Florida, Nov. 22, 2022 – Prospect Select Baseball is set to launch its new, cutting-edge, data and video driven player profile system that will be available to all amateur baseball players, college coaches, and professional scouts around the world. This system is geared to enhance, but also simplify, the recruiting experience for players, families, coaching staffs, and scouts worldwide. PS Profiles will feature a plethora of beneficial features to help prospects house everything they need in one location, creating a one-stop-shop for college coaches and scouts on the recruiting trail. In turn, this produces a game-changing experience where players can better market themselves, and coaches and scouts can make better educated decisions on prospective student-athletes. 

Player Benefits

Recruiting is difficult, what is the best way to get seen? To stand out - Players with a PS Profile will have the ability to do just that. Next-level video-capturing software (the first of its kind) will allow videos from any setting (game-footage, showcase, practice, cage-work, bullpen, etc.) to be housed directly on the players profile, easy to view for coaches and scouts. Nothing is more effective in creating interest than a video that stands out. Not only from showcases but live game-action as well, which answers the magic question: “Can he do it in a game?”

Let your numbers backup your video - Video is an excellent tool for recruiting in its own right, and video becomes even more valuable when you have reliable data and analytics to match it with. PS Profiles will have that capability with the partnership of first-class radar and tech company, Flightscope. Flightscope X3B tracking systems are a next level radar software that produces data in any setting, live-games, showcases, batting practice, bullpens, etc. This data, along with in-depth game logs, spray charts, strike zone charts, barrel percentages, player tendencies, pitching percentages and much more, will be accessible for coaches and scouts to view and for players to use to market themselves and match their actions with reliable numbers. 

Update your profile at any time - Players will be able to edit and update their basic information at any time as they progress through the recruiting process. All event data will be automatically updated to player profiles along with a support team for any urgent profile questions. 

Easy access to your game stats and upcoming schedule - PS Profiles will automatically sync a player's upcoming schedule, statistics, scout blogs and more, providing an easy way for players to communicate their schedule and for college coaches and scouts to thoroughly follow players.

Coach, Scout Benefits

Coaches and Scouts will have a separate login of their own that will bring them to the newly launched “Scout Dashboard” giving coaches and scouts a true “recruiting headquarters” for them and their staff. This will provide endless ways to search and sift through players in a more advanced way than ever before. 

Advanced-filter search setting - Have a specific need? The PS Coaches Portal features an easy-to-use advanced search setting where coaches can narrow down their search. Looking for a 2023 LHP from Florida that is 6’2” with a minimum FB velocity of 85 and minimum spin rate of 2000RPM? That is now possible through the PS Coaches Portal, giving a coaching staff the ability to view thousands of players that match their search criteria.

Unlimited access to all videos - PS Profiles give players the ability to use video from all avenues, including live game-footage on their profiles, plus giving coaches the ability to evaluate from multiple settings. 

Data and analytics - Coaches will have access to all data captured at PS events. This includes all basic data. For example: 60YD, IF Velo, OF Velo, FB Velo, C Pop, etc. The separator for the PS Scout Dashboard is the ability to access all data captured by Flightscope giving reliable numbers to help produce better projections and evaluations. Ability to “like'' and “follow” players, and also add them to your personalized watchlist - See players you or your staff are interested in? Add them to your watchlist to follow progress. Want to help keep specific grad years separate? Create multiple watchlists, organized however you want (position, grad year, state, GPA, SAT, 60 YD time, etc.)

Want to attend a PS event, but looking to narrow down a list of players to scout? Our PS scouts leverage exclusive relationships with travel coaches across the country to create pre-event watchlists for College Coaches and Scouts. Prior to tournaments, scouts will have the ability to view watchlists generated by our scouts and travel coach recommendations. This will make it more efficient for scouts attending events to ID players from different grad years for their recruiting needs prior to attending.
