The 2022 Charlotte Fall Classic was held September 3-5 at various venues throughout the Charlotte area. 41 teams from across the country competed in this tournament, and many collegiate prospects showcased their talent. This blog post serves to recognize the best uncommitted players I watched while scouting this event.
This is my "Top 5" from the 2022 Charlotte Fall Classic:
1. ('23,SC) CIF/RHP Zack Hunt of Wow Factor
6'1" 215lbs. Physical RHH with pro-type power. Evident that his approach is to create contact off the ground to the left-center side with authority, and he did just that this past weekend. Zack has also ran the FB up to the low 9s on the mound recently. Recruitment is still open.
2. ('24,NC) OF Drew Beard of Wow Factor
6’ 175lbs. Gamer with true 5-tool projection; above average in all aspects. Shined at Black Bear and Black Bear Select where he posted a sub 6.7 60 and arm strength at 91 from the OF; added a 100mph EV during batting practice as well. Well put together and will be a contributor at the next level.
3. ('24,SC) OF/1B Aiden Cattarin of SBA-South Carolina
6’3” 210lbs. Best 2024 power bat that I saw in Charlotte. Physical bat that gets on plane early and stays on balls well with side-bend and scissor-ish lower half moves. The corner outfielder also moved well for his size from right this past week.
4. ('23,NC) INF Jalen Evans of 5 Star Carolina
5’8” 150lbs. Impressed offensively while producing line drives and being a quick mover on the base-paths. Clean defensively with efficient funnel and pro MIF arm-action. Projects as a reliable 2B at next level.
5. ('24,NC) C Gavin Esp of Carolina Knights
6'2" 188lbs. Another physical bat with good moves; positive path with some juice. Has a good idea defensively behind the plate; controls run game with upper 7s down and low 2s PT. Good student.
