The 2023 TNXL Invitational was held on January 31st and February 1st at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera, FL. The teams in attendance included some of the the top baseball academies in Florida; Georgia and Puerto Rico were also represented. This blog post serves to recognize my favorite uncommitted and committed players I watched while scouting the event.

This is my "Top 5" from the 2023 TNXL Invitational:

Uncommitted

1. RJ Cope ('26,GA) LHP of Georgia Premier

The words "interesting follow" get thrown around a lot in the scouting world, but when a southpaw showcases a performance like Cope did this past week it makes him more than an interesting follow. He was a tad shaky in his 1st IP, but during his next 2 he was on another level. The full mix was working with present conviction in command. The ceiling is set very high with his stature, physicality, and this level of competitiveness as a HS-Fr.

2. Maurice Days Jr. ('24,FL) INF of A3 Academy

6' 175lbs. Days has cemented the characteristic of a lockdown defender over the past couple of years. In addition, the bat is really coming around as of late and he has proved that at the TNXL Invite; present adjustability to barrel off-speed offerings as well as having the ability to be on time with upper 90s FBs. Humble kid with a great personality; will be a very solid college pick up.

3. Francis Alberto ('24,NY) INF of Reborn Academy

Don't want to say I told you so, but if you read the "2023 TNXL Invitational - Players To Watch" you would know that I included him with this note: "Infielder who has shown the ability to catch barrels in game; look for that this week. College follow." Francis did exactly that in big spots and against legit arms. There's a lot to like about a gamer-hitter with a yes-yes approach.

4. Joel Core ('23,FL) 1B/RHP of Central Pointe Christian Academy

The former FIU commit has put on some size and strength since last year's "The Academy Invite" where he stood out on the bump. At the TNXL Invite this year it was the bat that stood out. He posted the 5th highest exit velocity of the whole event at 98, and was an RBI machine. College ready swing is available in Core.

5. Colin Jones ('24,GA) INF of A3 Academy

Medium frame guy with a ton of speed; plays full throttle from both sides of the ball. There is going to be lot's of run-scoring in Jones' future if he can keep up his B2B skills that he showed this past week. Solid college follow.

HM: Daniel Giuliani ('26,FL) RHP of A3 Academy

After going back through my notes and video from the TNXL Invite I came across Giuliani's relief appearance against a legit Georgia Premier lineup. It would be a crime not to include him on my "Top 5"; a case could also be made for him to be in the 1 or 2 spot on this uncommitted list. The sky is the limit for the maturing power arm.
