The LHH for Elite Squad National 17u had quite the day at the plate. The Wake Forest commit tallied up 5 RBIs across a no doubt 3 run HR followed up by a 2 RBI single to end the game. The home run came off at 101.6EV and traveled 353ft. Meléndez features a big load, stays on time and balanced, and exudes confident in the box. His 2-RBI single proved to be all his team needed to end the game in a walk off mercy for his squad. There is a lot to like at the plate in Meléndez as a true quality hitter. Wake Forest commit.

The RHP for Coastal Prospects 17u had himself a day on the mound.  Harris produced 5.2 innings of scoreless ball until he was pulled and one of his runs came across. He was dominant all day, with the FB running up to 87 and a sharp SL at 76-78. He was confident in his off speed all day, and could spin it well for strikes whenever needed. At a solid 6’1 210lbs frame, there is a lot to like in the outing Harris produced today. He is currently uncommitted.

Hunter Mercer of X Team 2027 did a little bit of everything for his squad today. As the lead off bat for his team, he took the first at bat of the game and turned it into a leadoff triple over the LF head. The RHH stays on time and shows present power in his swing. Later in the game, Mercer got on the mound and closed the game out for his team. He ran his FB up to 80 and did whatever he could to get outs. Overall, Mercer had a a solid day in all aspects. The LHP for Coastal Prospects 17u went the distance for his squad, only allowing 2 runs in 4 innings in a mercy rule effort from his team. The crafty lefty dealt, sitting 80/81 T82 with the FB and featured a consistent BB that was spun well for strikes all day. A RHP out of Citius Velocracy Scout 17u, the Oklahoma commit featured an impressive FB, dominating early and running it up to 90mph. He also featured a tall frame at 6’7 205lbs, which allowed him work downhill very well. There is a lot to like in his tall frame and he made it clear the velo came easy. Coming in relief for Florida Burn 2025, Planer looked good on the mound keeping hitters off-balanced. Attacking hitters with a fastball that topped out at 83 mph, then finishing with a big breaking curveball dropping in at 70 that left hitters frozen in the box. The two-way gets down the mound quick with a slide step from the stretch. Uncommitted.

Good frame standing 6’2 175 lbs, the imposing RHP from Southern Squeeze Baseball looks the part and gives his team a chance to win. With a simple, repeatable delivery and a solid 3 pitch mix, Harper has good feel for pitching. Fastball sits 82-83, touches 84 with a mid-70s curveball, and sprinkles in a changeup at 77 to keep hitters honest from the low 3/4 arm slot. Standing at 5’10 175 lbs, this is one of the more athletic catchers you will see. Displays good rhythm and smooth actions in the box, has great timing and the ability to square up baseballs. Carries a quiet swagger with him on the field. He laced a single to left field in the middle innings and eventually came around to score to extend his Southern Squeeze Baseball’s team lead. Uncommitted, but has the ability to stick behind the plate and continue to play the premium position at the next level.

Displayed good bat control with quick hands and is able to go with where the ball is pitched. Racked up 6 strikeouts through his first 3 innings pitched with no hits and no runs allowed. A deep, sharp breaking slider at 72 was an out-pitch for the tall righty. Tall and athletic frame checking in at 6’1 176 lbs. Toolsy up-the-middle player that can stick at the SS position at the next level. Smooth actions from the left-handed hitter and can really swing the bat. Can hit the ball to all fields which showed in his last AB of the game - roping a double to the left-center gap and collecting an RBI in the process. Easy, natural power, but won’t sell out for it either. Will have the chance to compete at the next level at the University of Florida.

The Figs Baseball righty showed his stuff in a quick outing interrupted and cut short by the Florida rainstorms. Though cut short, he still impressed on the mound with a heavy FB sitting 85-86 and touching 87 that hitters struggled timing up. Came out of the pen and did an excellent job. Fastball was electric as he was able to run it up to 90. Competitive on the mound and was constantly in the zone. Struck out 4 hitters in a row with the FB which created many swings and misses.

Plusquellic is an incredibly active backstop. Here he is setting the tone early with the putout to snag the first baserunner of the game. The Florida heat did not seem to bother him, as he was working hard all game. From the plate, Plusquellic has great discipline. Drew a walk with great command of his zone, even at 6’1. After coming into the Game, in which the Elite Squad was down - he attacked the zone from the jump.  Really commanded his Fastball Arm-Side and was not afraid to go inside.  His metrics were 16-18 inches of ride (IVB), more of a North to South approach & spun the breaking ball at 2200+ with similar depth to the FB, at 16+ inch of break.  Topped at 90 on the morning and added a couple K's.  Really looking forward to seeing this young man develop & watching his career play out.

Soft contact was the name of the game, as Luna induced many weak ground balls for outs throughout the span of the game. At 82 mph it comes out of a 3/4 arm slot with tight spin and lots of horizontal break that starts in the right-handed batter’s box and finishes in the zone at the knees, leaving hitters nothing to do, but stare at it. Dots corners on both sides of the plate with command and finish. Lots of polish for a pitcher at his size of 6’4 220, with the ability to add more velo and continue to develop at the next level. In relief for his squad in the semifinals, Baldo provided 4 scoreless innings in a 1-0 ballgame to send his team to the championship. He showed off impressive command of the FB and BB, aggressively throwing both for strikes.
