RHP '23 Nick Herrick

Competed in the zone with 2 pitches. Low 80s FB, paired with sharp CUR in mid 70s. Strike-thrower, gets lots of GB's. Interesting follow. Simple mechanics, clean arm, should be able to add velo as strength improves and matures.

C '23 Drew Gaff

Showed well on both sides of the ball. Aggressive hitter, attacked balls early in the count. Quick hands, runs well, top of the line-up type of hitter. Defensively showed above average arm, received and moved well behind the plate. Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to handle the pitching staff.

SS/RHP '23 Noah Kenney

2-way prospect. FB was up to 83, paired with a low 70's SLD. Competed in the zone with both pitchers. Good actions defensively in the middle INF, hands & feet worked well, showed some range. Could be a guy that stays as a 2-way at the right spot at the next level.

RHP '24 Paul Hughes

High-follow arm, FB up 86, tight SLD Mid 70's. Lean frame, with room to grow. Quick arm, very high ceiling guy to follow.

1B '23 Ben Steele

Polished approach as a LHH. Really put together some good at-bats throughout the weekend. Barreled several balls to the pull-side. Plays above average 1B defensively.

Midwest Astros 17u - Walters

RHP '23 Landon Carlisle

Worked with a low 80's FB and flashed a quality breaking ball in the upper 60's. Projectable 6'5" frame, tons of room to fill out and add some velo.

RHP '23 Joseph Wilson

Efficient & Repeatable delivery, with a quick arm. FB sat 82-83, touched 84. Pounded the zone, showed ability to throw 3 pitches for strikes. CH had some nice fade and was his go to off-speed in the mid-70's. Also used a CUR in 68-69.

C '23 Russell Weaver

Physical body, strong arm. Used 1-knee setup most of the weekend. Threw out multiple runners, with a best pop time of 2.0. Simple setup in the box, flashed some bat speed, barreled several balls throughout the weekend. Guy to follow.

OPS BlueSox 17u

SS/3B '23 Andrew Sinish

Good actions, physical body. Put together good at-bats most of the weekend, connected with multiple barreled balls and a couple extra-base hits. Moves well in the INF and strong arm, projects right now as 3B and will probably grow into that physically. Solid runner.

RHP '23 Maddux Wright

FB 84, SLD 77, CH 69

Big frame, mixes tempo and makes it a tough AB for the hitters. Easy arm action, ball comes out well. FB up to 84, mixed with 2 good off-speed pitches a late-breaking SLD at 77 and CH at 69. College prospect

1B '23 Donnie Wiley

Kind of a raw talent at the moment but very intriguing to follow. Long & lean body, with lots of athleticism and plenty of room to fill out. Barrelled up several balls of the weekend for extra-bases, including a long HR to LF. Multi-sport guy that could be real interesting if he focuses full-time on baseball at the next level.

Indiana Prospects 17u - Edwards

SS/RHP '23 Caleb Smith

Switch-hitter, athlete, plus runner. Showed off his tools all weekend on both sides of the ball. On the mound competed in the in the zone with FB at 79 and a workable CUR in the upper 60's. Toolsy guy to keep an eye on.

LHP '24 Cade Shelton

Young arm, lanky 6'3" frame. Pitched in multiple outings throughout the weekend and competed well. FB was up to 82, paired with a big over the top CUR ball in the low 60's. Lean body, with tons of room to grow makes him an interesting follow as he fills out.

OPS BlueSox 16u

INF '23 Caleb Ensign

Smooth actions in the field, playing both MINF spots. Right now arm projects as 2B. Little undersized, but quick and athletic. As a hitter, a simple operation, connected with several balls over the course of the weekend.

'24 RHP Micah Steury

Live & quick arm, young guy to follow. FB was up to 80, paired with a sharp CUR at 69 which he showed ability to bury at times. Guy to keep an eye on and see how the velo improves down the road.

'24 RHP/3B Cooper Wenzlick of @ops_baseball.

High-level 2-way guy, best current prospect at the event. FB sat 84-86, touched 87, paired with a plus 2-plane SLD at 75. Physical body, also shown well at the plate all weekend with multiple hard hit balls and extra-base hits. High follow.

'24 RHP/ INF Andrew Graber

Potential 2-way player 2 pitch mix, up to mid 80s FB with some ASR and a sweeping slider at 74. Athletic frame that played corner INF.

Indiana Longhorns

'24 C/UTL Jayce Key

Physical body for his age, guy to keep an eye. Primary C, but also pitched and played in the field. Strong arm behind the plate, but velo only transferred to upper 70's on the mound. Aggressive swing, connected with several well hit balls throughout the weekend, including a no-doubt HR. Definite a young guy with some tools for scouts to keep an eye on.
