Day 4 Performances

2023 C Johnny Bloom (5’11, 185)—Dbacks 16U Mannan.  Lean, athletic build with added room to grow and put on muscle.  Moves well behind the plate.  Keeps balls in front on blocks and helps control the pace of the game well.  Displays strong arm.  Quick footwork to allow a speedy release to nab runners at second.  Throws to 2nd pretty accurate.  

 

2023 CF Ian Griffin (5’8, 160)—Dbacks 16U Mannan.  Slender build.  Shows some quick twitch instincts.  Rangy CF that takes good routes to balls.  Shows understanding of how a ball reacts off the bat early.  Short, quick stroke with line-drive approach at the plate.  Stays up-the-middle and pull side.  Good athlete.  Should continue to grow and add strength to improve his all-around game.

 

2023 RHP Maxwell Foster (5’11, 160)—Dbacks 16U Mannan.  Tall, slender build.  Shows easy ability to add 20 lbs of strength.  Repeatable mechanics.  Side-step with pause and to tap on the rubber before delivery.  Moves well on the mound.  FB ranges 73-75, occasionally up to 76-77.  Flashes 2 off-speed pitches to keep hitters off balance.  Usually goes to CB as primary off-speed that starts middle of the plate to break low glove side.  CH appeared spotty and not thrown often.  Generates a lot of weaker contact and hard to square up.  Threw 7 scoreless innings with minimal runners on base.  

 

2024 RHP/MIF Josh Donna (5’11, 145)—MN Blizzard 2024 Blue.  Tall, slender build.  Easily has room to fill out and add muscle.  Live arm with a high ¾ slot.  Goes right at hitters with FB 79-81, topping at 83.  Keeps them honest and generates weak contact and rollovers with CB 69.  Ball starts middle in and breaks away to the catcher’s right foot.  May take more of a SL shape/movement with added velo.  As MIF, smooth, soft hands with strong arm to make plays across the diamond.  Good defensive instincts.  

 

Day 3 Scout Notes

2022 SS Jeremy Santiago (B/T: R/R)—Power Baseball Gold 2022.  Slender, athletic build with room to continue to fill out.  Natural defensive instincts.  Quick twitch ability to move laterally.  Displays a strong arm to make plays.  Hits in upright stance that features a small leg kick.  Strong understanding of the zone with patience for a pitch he can hit.  Quick hands through the zone to stay inside on the baseball and drive it.  

 

2024 RHP Connor Armand (5’9, 150)—MN Blizzard 2024 Blue.  Slender, athletic build with loads of room to continue to add on muscle as he matures.  Has a strong feel for his age for pitching working a quality 3 pitch mix.  Pounds the zone with FB 78-79, topping at 80.  Blends an above-average CH 64-66 with a lot of arm-side/downward movement.  Combines that with a SL 68-69 with sharp bite to the right foot of the catcher.  Understands how to keep a hitter off balance.  More velo will come as he grows and fills out.  Recommended pitcher to follow.  

 

2021 CF Jaden Salazar (5’11, 180, B/T: L/L)—Schaumburg Senators 17U National.  Medium, athletic build.  Current frame holds some muscle now and appears to continue to add a bit more. Upright stance.  Hands fly through the zone to the ball.  Approach is line drives with slight loft in the swing.  Flashes pull side power.  

 

2022 OF D’Moi Foy (B/T: R/R)—Power Baseball Gold 2022.  Slender, tall build with long legs and high waist.  Long strides allow him to run well and have above average speed.  Crouched stance with small leg kick.  Hands are quick to contact and stay inside the baseball.  Show patience on balls to drive.  Gap to gap approach of mostly line drives and ground balls to beat at first. 

 

2023 1B Joe Shiffler (6’4, 205 B/T: L/R) – OPS Blue Sox Ehle. Big strong frame that has potential to lean out and add more muscle as he matures. Features a low leg kick load to a 1-piece swing from the left side. Comfortable stance in the box and showed some ability to drive the ball to center and pull side with aggressive swings. Solid defender that picked a few balls out of the dirt. 

 

2023 RHP Maddux Wright (6’4, 205 B/T: R/R) – OPS Blue Sox Ehle. Another big body and strong frame from the OPS squad. Off the mound he showcased a smooth delivery from a High ¾ slot. FB was heavy, and cruised at 79-80 T81 for 7 innings. Secondary pitch was an above average SL at 66-67 with tight rotation and late movement. Used it often as a closeout pitch and was comfortable throwing it at any time. Very interesting player to follow as he matures and gets even stronger.

 

2024 RHP Kyle Gudat (5’11, 165 B/T: R/R) – Midwest Stars 15U. Lean and athletic build with a loose delivery. Threw from a ¾ slot and featured a sinking FB that was consistently 78-9 T82 for 7 innings. Secondary pitch was an average slider at 65-67 that shows potential to be a quality pitch. Used it to keep a quality lineup off balance and scoreless. Great composure and showed an above average ability to pitch for an underclass. Potentially the best outing of the event. 

 

2023 OF/1B Beau Jacquay (6’6 210 B/T: R/R) – FW Tin Caps 17U. Big frame that has potential to fill out with lots of strength. Toe tap load and aggressive swinger. Showed pop to middle and pull side. As he continues to develop the ability to hit, could be a dangerous bat. 

 

Day 2 Scout Notes

#UNCOMMITTED 2023 RHP Andrew Johnson (6’1, 185)—MN Blizzard 2023 Black. Lean, athletic build. Body is projectable as he fills out and matures. FB sat 77-79 with the ability to work both sides of the plate. Displayed the ability to add and subtract in the top of the zone. Mixes a CH (70-72) with a SL/CB combination to keep hitters off balance. Tends to crossfire with fatigue. Excellent student.

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2022 C Jack Nelson (5’9, 175)—Advanced Baseball Academy (ABA 17/18U). Lean, stocky build. Features a big-time arm from behind the plate. Consistently has accurate throw downs to second. Fluid movement from behind the plate. Blocks well to keep the ball in front of his body.  Receives the ball well within his set-up.  Threw out runner at second and back picked during the game for outs.  

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2022 RHP Jake Boyer (6’4, 220)—Fort Wayne Tin Caps 17U.  One of the most physical players in the event. Very strong frame projects to be able to lean out and continue to add more muscle.  Repeatable mechanics.  Pounds the zone with a heavy FB sitting 81-83, topping at 84.  Spins the ball well, the FB appears harder than is out of the hand.  Compliments FB with a breaking ball that sits 67-70.  Uses the breaking ball effectively to keep hitters off balance.  

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2023 RHP Caleb Smith (5’9, 145)—Indiana Prospects Morrical 16U.  Lean, athletic build.  Moves very well on the mound.  Features a quick delivery with a live, loose arm.  FB ranged from 72-75 and topping 76 with some life.  Showed the ability to work in, out, and up in the zone with it.  Flashed some feel for a CH 67-69 and breaking ball to keep hitters off balance from his FB. Competes with a fierce edge on the mound.  Secondary position is SS as a switch-hitter.  

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2022 OF Jacob Delano Power Baseball Gold 2022 - Quick twitch player with a compact 1-piece swing from the left side. Showed above average bat speed on an inside fastball and power to the pull side gap. 4.5 to first on the round and took good angles on the basepaths. An athlete to pay attention to.

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2022 RHP/1B Logan Wirt Power Baseball Gold 2022 - Athleticism and strength on a big frame. Worked comfortably at 83-4 T85 while showing command of quality secondary pitch with a CB at 67. Showed ability to pitch at the next level, kept a solid Tin Caps 17U roster in check. Also showed ability to hit with patient approach and balanced 1-piece swing and power to the pull side. Should be on the radar for any school looking for a strong, physical competitor.

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2024 RHP Tommy Pecoraro—Midwest Stars 15U.  Smooth right-handed arm from a L 3/4 slot. Sinking FB 74-75, topping out at 77.  Flashed the ability to command a SL at 67. Was able to get misses at the top of the zone and soft contact down low. Athletic movements and gets solid extension on the front leg after delivery. Lanky frame with plenty of room to grow and develop. Interesting follow as he matures.

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2023 RHP Thomas Tratnyek (6’2)—Fort Wayne Reds. Tall, strong, athletic build that shows the ability to fill out and continue to add muscle.  Shows a fierce competitive edge on the mound.  Fills up the strike zone with a FB that sits 79-81, topping at 83.  He keeps hitters in line with a CB that is 66-67 and shows some feel for CH that sits 69-70.  Mostly attacks with a FB and blends the CB early in the count and as a put away pitch.  Guy to follow as he grows and develops.  

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2023 RHP Luke Byers (6’1, 160)—OPS Blue Sox.  Tall, lanky build.  Moves well as an athlete on the mound.  Delivery is smooth and repeatable and minimal effort.  Features a FB that lives 75-78, topping at 79.  Has an advanced feel and flashes an above average CB sitting 66-68.   Fills up the strike zone and can command the ball inside and out.  

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2021 Dane McDonald—Schaumburg Seminoles 17U National.  Athletically built with room to continue to fill out and grow.  Moves well on the mound.  FB ranges 80-81 and will top out at 83.  Uses his FB to pound the zone and set up his breaking pitch.  Breaking pitch has a mix of a Knuckleball/Splitter sitting 65-67 and falls off the table.  

 

2021 1B Robert “Trey” Watson (6’1, 200)—Easton St. Louis Tigers 17/18U Black.  Thick, athletic build.  Moves well for his size at 1B.  Strong lower half.  Uses his lower half well to generate up the middle and pull side power.  Hands shoot through the zone looking to damage in every swing.  St. Louis Community College commit.  

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2024 LHP Bradyn Bezanson (5’7, 165)—MN Blizzard 2024 Blue.  Lean, semi-slender, athletic build with plenty of room to fill out.  Throws from low ¾ arm slot.  Throws a lot of strikes.  FB sat 79-80, topping at 82 and displayed arm-side run at times.  Good feel for CH at 70.  Uses SL 60-62 to slow down hitters and force them to adjust to other pitches.  

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2024 RHP Easton Stone (5’11, 180)—MN Blizzard 2024 Blue.  Projectable, athletic build with lots of room to fill out and add muscle.  Ball jumps out of his hand from an over-the-top, high 3/4 delivery.  FB sits 80-82, topping at 84 with occasional appears to rise when up in the zone and arm-side run.  Flashes a CH with arm-side tumble that sits 74-75.  Has good feel for CB that sits 69-70.  Blends pitches well and goes right after hitters.  Arm to follow as he continues to grow.

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2022 RHP Perry Stow (5’11” 190) Fort Wayne Tin Caps 17U

Physical athlete with ability to pitch. Delivers from a ¾ slot and commanded the zone with a FB that sat consistently around 83. Showed ability to work both sides of the plate and had good presence on the mound. Stayed very competitive with a solid Power Baseball roster.

 

Day 1

2023 RHP Camden Hershberger (6’2, 185)—OPS Blue Sox Rudolph.  Athletic build and moves very well on the mound.  Quick delivery.  FB sat 74-77, T78 with command to both sides of the plate.  Had solid feel for SL (66-67) as a punchout pitch and threw with confidence.  Plenty of room to fill out and add strength.  Threw 4 scoreless innings.  

 

2023 OF Daniel Kirk (5’8, 160, B/T: L/R)—OPS Blue Sox Rudolph.  Smaller, compact build.  Left-handed bat that shows serious pull side power.  Aggressive in the box with quick hands that get through the zone quickly.  Still shows the ability to add a muscle.  Went 2-3 with a no-doubt HR deep down the RF line.

 

2023 OF Alex Leslie (5’10, 165, B/T: R/R)—OPS Blue Sox Rudolph.  Athletically built with plenty of room to add muscle in the lower half.  Higher, upright stance.  Quick to load with the hands.  Demonstrates a medium leg kick that gets down on time to allow drive hands through the zone.  Showed ability to drive the baseball gap-to-gap.  Good runner.  

 

2023 CF/LHP Travis “TJ” Logan (5’8, 135, B/T: L/L)—MN Blizzard 2023 Black.  Slender, athletic frame.  Excellent runner.  Showcased speed on extra base hits.  Displayed an up the middle, opposite field approach as left-handed hitter with a quick barrel.  Showed power in his approach hitting balls over the outfielder’s heads up the middle and opposite field.  Will be able to add strength and more power in the swing.  

 

2022 RHP Nolan Maroth—Power Baseball White 2022.  Tall, lean build.  Easily has the ability to add weight to his frame.  Uses lower half effectively to create a downward plane to the plate.  FB topped at 85 but consistently threw strikes with FB between 81-84.  Flashed a quality CH that fooled hitters as ball faded arm side.  CH range was 74-77 and threw it with confidence.  

 

2022 RHP Collin McCaw—Power Baseball White 2022.  Lean, athletic build.  Capable of adding weight to his body.  Delivery was more upright.  Attacked the zone inside and out throwing plenty of strikes.  FB sat 82-85, T86.  Occasionally FB showed a little cut on occasion. Relied heavily on the FB in his outing.  Recorded 4+ K’s. 

 

2022 C Erwin Cabassa (B/T: R/R)—Power Baseball Gold 2022.  Tall, thick build.  Swings the bat with a lot of power generated from a quick lower half.  Lots of backspin generated in first AB.  Demonstrates an up the middle approach with power to the alleys.  Behind the plate, shows the ability to be fluid and move for his size and build.  Arm strength average. 

 

2022 RHP Savian Loor—Power Baseball Gold.  Athletically built, moves well on the mound.  Shows competitive edge when pitching and is aggressive with his pitches.  Attacks with a FB that sits 82-83 but can run up to 85.  Plays the FB off his CH that tumbles arm side between 76-77.  Keeps hitters off balance occasionally flashing a CB 68-69 to generate weak contact or foul ball early in the count.  Fills up the bottom of the zone.  

 

2023 Will Seigel (6’0, 170, B/T: R/R)—OPS Blue Sox Ehle.  Athletic, lean build.  Demonstrates good plate discipline and plate vision.  Uses lower half well to generate his power.  Finds pitches he can drive with power up the middle and away.  Flashes speed complimented with his power to have two 3B on the day to CF and Right-Center.

#UNCOMMITTED 2024 RHP Easton Stone (5’11, 180)—MN Blizzard 2024 Blue.  Projectable, athletic build with lots of room to fill out and add muscle.  Ball jumps out of his hand from an over-the-top, high 3/4 delivery.  FB sits 80-82, topping at 84 with occasional appears to rise when up in the zone and arm-side run.  Flashes a CH with arm-side tumble that sits 74-75.  Has good feel for CB that sits 69-70.  Blends pitches well and goes right after hitters.  Arm to follow as he continues to grow.

 

#UNCOMMITTED 2022 RHP Perry Stow (5’11” 190) Fort Wayne Tin Caps 17U

Physical athlete with ability to pitch. Delivers from a ¾ slot and commanded the zone with a FB that sat consistently around 83. Showed ability to work both sides of the plate and had good presence on the mound. Stayed very competitive with a solid Power Baseball roster.

 

Day 1

2023 RHP Camden Hershberger (6’2, 185)—OPS Blue Sox Rudolph.  Athletic build and moves very well on the mound.  Quick delivery.  FB sat 74-77, T78 with command to both sides of the plate.  Had solid feel for SL (66-67) as a punchout pitch and threw with confidence.  Plenty of room to fill out and add strength.  Threw 4 scoreless innings.  

 

2023 OF Daniel Kirk (5’8, 160, B/T: L/R)—OPS Blue Sox Rudolph.  Smaller, compact build.  Left-handed bat that shows serious pull side power.  Aggressive in the box with quick hands that get through the zone quickly.  Still shows the ability to add a muscle.  Went 2-3 with a no-doubt HR deep down the RF line.

 

2023 OF Alex Leslie (5’10, 165, B/T: R/R)—OPS Blue Sox Rudolph.  Athletically built with plenty of room to add muscle in the lower half.  Higher, upright stance.  Quick to load with the hands.  Demonstrates a medium leg kick that gets down on time to allow drive hands through the zone.  Showed ability to drive the baseball gap-to-gap.  Good runner.  

 

2023 CF/LHP Travis “TJ” Logan (5’8, 135, B/T: L/L)—MN Blizzard 2023 Black.  Slender, athletic frame.  Excellent runner.  Showcased speed on extra base hits.  Displayed an up the middle, opposite field approach as left-handed hitter with a quick barrel.  Showed power in his approach hitting balls over the outfielder’s heads up the middle and opposite field.  Will be able to add strength and more power in the swing.  

 

2022 RHP Nolan Maroth—Power Baseball White 2022.  Tall, lean build.  Easily has the ability to add weight to his frame.  Uses lower half effectively to create a downward plane to the plate.  FB topped at 85 but consistently threw strikes with FB between 81-84.  Flashed a quality CH that fooled hitters as ball faded arm side.  CH range was 74-77 and threw it with confidence.  

 

2022 RHP Collin McCaw—Power Baseball White 2022.  Lean, athletic build.  Capable of adding weight to his body.  Delivery was more upright.  Attacked the zone inside and out throwing plenty of strikes.  FB sat 82-85, T86.  Occasionally FB showed a little cut on occasion. Relied heavily on the FB in his outing.  Recorded 4+ K’s. 

 

2022 C Erwin Cabassa (B/T: R/R)—Power Baseball Gold 2022.  Tall, thick build.  Swings the bat with a lot of power generated from a quick lower half.  Lots of backspin generated in first AB.  Demonstrates an up the middle approach with power to the alleys.  Behind the plate, shows the ability to be fluid and move for his size and build.  Arm strength average. 

 

2022 RHP Savian Loor—Power Baseball Gold.  Athletically built, moves well on the mound.  Shows competitive edge when pitching and is aggressive with his pitches.  Attacks with a FB that sits 82-83 but can run up to 85.  Plays the FB off his CH that tumbles arm side between 76-77.  Keeps hitters off balance occasionally flashing a CB 68-69 to generate weak contact or foul ball early in the count.  Fills up the bottom of the zone.  

 

2023 Will Seigel (6’0, 170, B/T: R/R)—OPS Blue Sox Ehle.  Athletic, lean build.  Demonstrates good plate discipline and plate vision.  Uses lower half well to generate his power.  Finds pitches he can drive with power up the middle and away.  Flashes speed complimented with his power to have two 3B on the day to CF and Right-Center.
